Located at a height of 4880 meters in the Garhwal ranges in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, Roopkund is nestled in the lap of Trishul Massif. This trekking paradise is famous for a mystery lake from where the skeletal remains of the Paleolithic man had been discovered. The mysterious lake is surrounded by a glacier and snow-clad peaks. The trek to Roopkund begins from Lohajang, 155 kms from Almora. Roopkund can also be reached by a Ghat connected by a motorable road with Nandprayag, which falls on the highway to Badrinath.
It’s an eight-day, 40-km trek to Roopkund. The trek route to Roopkund passes through a grassy land and conifer forest on the hill slopes. Thereafter, the trek route winds its way along the Pinder River. One can even approach Homkund via the Shila Samunder Glacier and move on the Ghat that makes way for Nandprayag. Bedni Bugyal and Bhagwawasa are among the beautiful places you will encounter in this trek. You will come across a lot of “Bramhakamal” near Bhagwawasa. The best time to visit this place is between end-August and end-October. Roopkund has been attracting the attention of trekkers because of the skeletal remains that can be seen in the waters of the mystery lake there. From Roopkund, trekkers usually go to a fabulous place called Kuari Pass. This trek is also known as Curzon’s Trail (named after the Indian Viceroy Lord Curzon, who undertook this trek during his stay in India. On this trek, you can get a glimpse of the Nanda Devi, Hathi-Ghodi, Kamet, and Dronagiri peaks, among others. This trek route will take you through pristine forests of Oak, Rhododendron and Deodar. The beauty of the region has been best described by the famous explorer Eric Shipton, who said, “A vision of such beauty is worth a world of striving.”

If cancellations are made 30 days before the start date of the trip, 25% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
If cancellations are made 15-30 days before the start date of the trip, 50% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
If cancellations are made within 0-15 days before the start date of the trip, 100% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
In case of unforeseen weather conditions or government restrictions, certain trips or activities may get cancelled. In such cases operator will try their best to provide an alternate feasible. However a cash refund will not be applicable for the same.
